I have worked as a Primary Care Provider with more than 1,500 patients under my care at any given time and visits that often last 15 minutes or less. At this stage in my career, my vision is to focus my attention on a new model of care, called Direct Primary Care, using my skills to spend more time with a smaller number of patients. This will allow me to:
-Give more time and better care to each patient.
-Build a community of patients that are empowered to lead their own health journey and mutually support each other.
-Contribute towards a better healthcare system that can eventually provide this experience to everyone who wants it. I believe this approach - taking into account the whole person, empowering them to lead their own healthcare journey and connecting them with a supportive community is - the future of healthcare.
